Olympian opens multi-million Canary Wharf health club refurbishment
- Overview
Managed by the UK’s leading employee health and wellbeing provider Nuffield Health, it now features upgraded Technogym cardio, resistance and free-weights areas, modernised changing rooms and a studio which runs 85 classes per week. These updates complement the existing 25 metre swimming pool, three squash courts which are unique to the Canary Wharf area, beauty spa, sauna and steam rooms and physiotherapy treatment rooms.
Historically only open to Credit Suisse employees, the club will now be open to all employees who work in the Canary Wharf area. Members can benefit from a range of services which are tailored to each individual such as receiving a health MOT every three months and personalised exercise programme every month. They will also have access to physiotherapists and personal trainers.
John Clarke, General Manager of The Canary Wharf Health Club said: “It’s a very exciting time for us and our members. We have a fantastic club offering lots of different health and wellbeing services and we are looking forward to supporting more members in their health and fitness goals.”
Nuffield Health has a long history of delivering successful corporate wellbeing partnerships and the not-for-profit healthcare organisation already works with 60 per cent of the FTSE 100. With 23.3 million days lost due to work-related ill health by investing in employee health and wellbeing services, companies can improve employees’ health and quality of life, helping to reduce absenteeism and improve productivity.
Jenni Wilson, Commercial Director of Corporate Partnerships at Nuffield Health comments about the refurbishment: “An organisation’s most important asset is its people and we are so pleased that our new upgraded fitness and wellbeing club will now be open to a much wider audience in the Canary Wharf area. We can now help more people to get fit and healthy and then stay fit and healthy.”
